Sundays September 15-October 27, 6-8 pm at Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church, 5299 Jamesville Road, Dewitt, NY 13214 with Victoria King.

This 7- week group workshop created for Singing Garden students is offered to strengthen the intermediate actor’s skills in scene and monologue work.  Active listening skills will be developed using several known Great Acting Teacher Methods such as Stanislavski, Stratsberg, Sandy Meisner,  Michael Checkov, and Uta Hagen. Students will also begin to learn how to select appropriate monologues and roles, basic audition techniques, how to sell a monologue, and tips on self marketing. The class will emphasize healthy vocal techniques based in the methods of Lessac, Linklater, Berry, Vaccai. Movement for actors is based in Alexander, Feldenkrais, Ailey, yoga, to name a few systems. Students will be paired in scenes and expected to rehearse in class and outside of class. Students will be expected to memorize their assigned scenes and monologues in a timely way. This is not a beginner’s class. You will be with others wanting to develop their skills as much as you.

If the entire class votes, a public presentation may happen October 27
